KXLU, which recently celebrated its 50th year being on the air, is a primarily student-run, free-form, commercial-free radio station broadcasting out of Loyola Marymount University. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. KXLU’s mission is to offer diverse and alternative programming, spanning many different music genres as well as airing shows dedicated to film, theater, poetry, and cultural affairs.
