Thom Yorke // Nobody Does It Better

I’ve given Jim James a lot of love lately, and deservedly so. But I cannot overlook my favorite musician, Thom Yorke.
Yesterday’s post on the Jarvis Cocker/Thom Yorke song, “Waiting For You“, reminded me of Yorke’s magnificent collaboration with PJ Harvey on “This Mess We’re In”.
Harvey’s song was released on 10/31/2000, just 28 days after Radiohead’s “experimental” album Kid A; perfect timing as I was still warming up to the post OK Computer era. It’s one of my top ten favorite Thom Yorke songs.
Thom also collaborated with Sparklehorse on a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” He sang his part on the telephone from his hotel room where you can hear his TV in the background.
