The Shield // A Blessing And A Curse
The final season of FX’s ‘The Shield‘ is one of the most exciting dramas I’ve seen in recent years. Creator Shawn Ryan and his writers have truly outdone themselves; they’ve created the grittiest cop show that has ever been made. They couldn’t have done it without the subperb acting of Michael Chiklis. His role as the corrupt LAPD detective Vic Mackey, solidifies his place among the best characters in television history.

I would be shocked if they didn’t take home Golden Globes and Emmy Awards for best actor and best series. But I’m really rooting for underrated Walton Goggins to win the best supporting actor award. He has crushed his role as rogue detective Shane Vendrell. Added bonus, he’s a huge Drive-By Truckers fan. Goggins starred in the movie ‘The Accountant‘, a short film by Ray McKinnon, inspired the Truckers to write the song “Sink Hole“.
I will miss this groundbreaking program. Series finale is this Tuesday the 25th.
