The Muslims Change Name To Soft Pack

The Muslims Change Name To Soft Pack
Soft Pack

File under good PR move.

One of my bands to watch in 2009 have changed their name from The Muslims to Soft Pack. The band sounds like a cross between The Strokes and The View. More on them next week.

You can catch the group formerly known as The Muslims tonight @ The Echo**
**A reader pointed out that there is no mention of The Muslims/Soft Pack playing @ The Echo tonight. My apologies.

Aaron: I double checked the Echo’s website. No mention of The Muslims playing tonight. I was lookong @ http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/1404078/. Thanks for pointing out

do you have the mp3s of Heart in a Cage and You Only Live Once from that same Jools Holland performance? that Heart in a Cage version is my favourite and I would LOVE an mp3.

also, I disapprove of them changing their name but yeah I agree with Aaron, they are too cool not to get away with it.

    Hi Hanan:

I do not have “Heart in A Cage” or “You Only Live Once”. I will try to find them.

I think it’s a tough time for white guys from Southern California to call themselves The Muslims. Soft Pack isn’t the best name, but their music speaks for itself. They have a ton of potential.

Think it’s great that they’ve changed their name, definitely a good move. Don’t like the new name at all though either!

  6. rollogrady Says:

Hey Agnes. I don’t think that they put much thought into either of their group names.
