It’s appropriate to follow up the Sunday Blues post with the most promising blues act to come along in years.

Austin’s Black Joe Lewis is one of the baddest motherfuckers on the scene. He’s a mix of James Brown, John Fogerty, Otis Redding and Hound Dog Taylor. His aggressive guitar play and forceful vocals are captivating. Lewis’ set with his backing band The Honey Bears at this year’s Lollapalooza was one of my favorites. To be honest with you it’s the one that made the biggest impression on me.

I highly recommend downloading his albums. You will not be disappointed.
