MP3: Rolling Stones - Cocksucker Blues

The Rolling Stones are band you don’t want to piss off. Cocksucker Blues (1970) was written by Mick Jagger to be the final single for Decca Records, as per their contract. The band was clearly unhappy with the label and were eager to move on to their new label, Rolling Stones Records. The song was never released by Decca. Probably a wise decision.

MP3: David Vandervelde - Cocksucker Blues (Daytrotter)

David Vandervelde did a solid cover of the Stones’ track when he performed for the Daytrotter Sessions on August 26, 2006. David’s 2007 debut album The Moonstation House Band is worth checking out. The David Bowie influenced Nothin’ No is the title track of the CD.

David’s follow-up to The Moonstation House Band mini-LP is called Waiting for the Sunrise, and it comes out on tomorrow via Secretly Canadian.
