I think that Dark Captain Light Captain is going to be one of the buzz bands at this year’s South By Southwest. Their debut LP Miracle Kicker was one of my favorite albums of 2008. The band, from East London, specializes in haunting, melodic folk-rock accompanied by electronic beats. Lead singer Dan Carney’s voice reminds me of Robin Pecknold of the Fleet Foxes and Stephen Stills. They are playing 3/18-3/21. Shows TBA.
