New Biz Model from BuskerLabel

Faenza, Italy (PRWEB) November 30, 2009 — BuskerLabel announced today that it will be presenting its new social network to finance and distribute free music at the MEI (Meeting of Independent Record Labels) on November 30, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the Press Room (Sala Stampa).

A busker, also known as a street musician, performs music in public places for tips and gratuities. BuskerLabel is transforming this model and putting a Web 2.0 twist on it. Our online community provides a place for musicians to post music where the members of the virtual audience can pay them if they like what they hear.

The value for the artist of participating in BuskerLabel is that it provides an easy and ready-to-use platform to earn income, promote new songs and build a group of passionate and active fans. The artist will receive 80 percent of collected money during the sponsorship phase that precedes the music release. In addition, they will see the following benefits:

o Receive increased visibility thanks to Creative Commons licenses, while still owning rights for commercial usage;
o Promotes his/her music in an open and attentive community; and
o Builds a rewarding and profitable relationship with music lovers.

The members of the community that support the musicians are called True Fans. By sponsoring music, the True Fan has the opportunity to:

o Discover the “next big star” by listening to unreleased music, before public availability;
o Provide direct feedback and evaluate new music together with the artist; and
o Download tracks in high definition and lossless formats.

The team that is launching BuskerLabel is passionate about music and developed this concept as a way to help reward deserving artists. The platform was developed by Giulio De Luise, a software designer, Pancrazio Auteri, high-tech entrepreneur and Giovanni Conte, lawyer. Umberto Luciani, manager and former record label executive that launched MySpace in Italy, is leading BuskerLabel’s marketing and communication efforts.
