New Album Releases For Tuesday (11/25/2008)
This is one of the most important weeks of the year for the record industry. The labels released The Killers, Kanye West, Ludacris and Guns N’ Roses’ albums early in an attempt to capitalize on the holiday week. 15 years in the making, the reviews have been mixed on GNR’s ‘Chinese Democracy’, but several publications have given the album high praise. Shockingly it sounds like old GNR, but that’s not a good thing. I don’t have any interest in downloading the album.
If you are looking to purchase something from the past check out R.E.M.’s reissue of their classic album ‘Murmur (Deluxe Edition)’, which includes a previously unreleased live show recorded in Toronto, July 1983. The live disc contains the classics Carnival of Sorts (Boxcars), Harborcoat, 7 Chinese Bros., Gardening At Night and Radio Free Europe to name a few.
