John “Jesus Quintana” Turturro

I received a copy of Majek Fashek’s “Hotel California” a couple years ago. My friend said it was a rare unreleased Bob Marley track. It wasn’t the best recording, but I definitely thought it was Bob Marley. I was going to put on the first Grady Discover Covers, but I wanted to double check to see if it was in fact his song. It turns out that Fashek recorded the track in 1997 for his album, Rainmaker.

If someone mentions “Hotel California”, I don’t think of The Eagles. I think of Jesus Quintana dancing in the bowling alley to the Gipsy Queens version of the song in the Big Lebowski.
