L4yer Cake // No Ordinary World
Eddie Temple: “You’re born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you’re up in the rarefied atmosphere and you’ve forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son.”
If it wasn’t for L4yer Cake “No Ordinary World” or “You Got The Love” wouldn’t be on my radar. After seeing the movie I changed my opinion about the songs.
L4yer Cake marks the directorial debut of Mathew Vaughn. He previously worked as a producer on Guy Ritchie’s classics Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
The “No Ordinary World” scene reminds me of the “Layla” scene from Goodfellas. I don’t care what anyone says about Sienna Miller, when she’s dancing to “You Got The Love” is one of the sexiest scenes in motion picture history. ****YouTube clips contain spoilers and considerable violence. Fuck it, it’s Friday.
Morty: “But let’s just forget about all of that. Let’s have a cup of tea, Mr. Hurst.”
