John McCauley :: Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant (R&G Sessions)
In my opinion, “Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant” will go down in history as one the greatest Christmas songs of all time. The song is about getting drunk, telling the kids that there is no santa, getting kicked out of the house, and eating Moo Goo Gai Pan for Christmas dinner. John McCauley’s songwriting on this track is in the same vein as country legends Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, and Merle Haggard.

“Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant” is a Diamond Rugs (Damn I’m On Drugs) cover that John performed for Rollo & Grady Sessions last month. Rugs consists of McCauley, Ian Saint Pe (Black Lips), Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Rob Crowell (Deer Tick), and Brian Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite).
