Been using Spotify in the UK for almost two weeks now, I have to say, it's actually pretty amazing. I haven't stolen any music since university days years ago, but since it's come out I haven't bought any either. I'm happy to listen to one ad every 30 mins to have access to all sorts of stuff I wouldn't pay for anyway. It's gonna be huge - hopefully they can figure out how to make money, because they appear to have only two active adverts and one is for a charity, and none of my friends are willing to pay either - nor would they continue to use the service if the ads got any more intrusive. Will be interesting to see how this shapes up.

Excellent summary of the new state of digital music, RolloGrady! I loved the line "I haven’t stolen a single track since I’ve installed Spotify." It's refreshing to read an article from someone who 'gets it' and doesn't bemoan the lack of an MP3-download option or social-media widgets.

I'm sure iTunes Store will fight back though (and Spotify wants to tune the service for Europe before expanding to the US). Already there are entire band discographies in the Apple App Store for 3 dollars (http://bit.ly/10yv1O).

Loved Bob's email blast on Spotify. It took him about a week to fully convert. Too bad nobody else has access to it yet because of licensing hold ups. You can however go over to the spotify website and get on an email as soon as they are ready to launch in the U.S.
