Dan Auerbach, too was my favorite. I would have included Melody Gardot in this top ten somewhere though.

I agree with Matt - it's not about the riffs. This was a Dan album, he wasn't trying to emulate his work with the Black Keys. In addition to singing, writing, playing guitar and producing, he played drums, percussion and glockenspiel on this album. I'm obviously a big fan of "Keep It Hid." Ben, I dig Drummer too.

Dan's album wasn't at all about the riffs. Sure, they're there, but Keep It Hid was all about the songwriting. Listen to "Goin Home" and tell me that's not beautiful.

Compared to the first 3 Black Keys albums, I found "Keep It Hid" pretty tedious - very unimaginative riffs recycled with not terribly memorable melodies. Pat's band, Drummer, made a far more interesting record.
