Ben Sollee – Only A Song (Featuring Jim James)
I found and borrowed this track from Buzzgrinder.com. It’s too good not to share with my readers.
Ben Sollee is a mix of Paul Simon, Andrew Bird, Amos Lee, Beirut and Bela Fleck. The Kentucky native is a classically trained cellist that incorporates guitar, banjo and percussion into a hybrid of folk, jazz and bluegrass. It doesn’t hurt that he has a soulful voice that accompanies his unique sound. I’m late to the game with Sollee, but his album Learning to Bend is flawless.
Ben is playing at The Roxy on April 29th.
