The Rolling Stones // Let It Bleed Sessions

The Rolling Stones // Let It Bleed Sessions

Let It Bleed was mostly recorded without Brian Jones, who died several months prior to its release, although he does play on two tracks, You Got The Silver and Midnight Rambler. Mick Taylor who replaced Jones also played on two tracks, Country Honk and Live With Me. Rumor has it that Bryd’s frontman Gram Parsons had a significant impact on Richards’ taste in country music, which was showcased on ‘Country Honk‘. One of my favorite Stones albums.

AM // Side By Side – Duets EP Vol. 1

AM // Side By Side Duets EP Vol. 1

Los Angeles singer/songwriter AM and Australian brother/sister duo Angus and Julia Stone put out two of the best EP’s of 2008.

AM invited some of his fellow Hotel Cafe alums to join him on his EP, entitled Side By Side – Duets Volume 1. AM made a splash early in his career by winning LA Weekly’s Singer/Songwriter Of The Year Award in 2006. He also caught the eye of KCRW’s tastemaker Nic Harcourt, who featured some AM’s earlier work on his radio program Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Angus and Julia Stone follow up their solid debut album A Book Like This with the Hollywood – EP. Angus’ voice reminds me of Paul Simon while Julia’s voice is reminiscent of Jolie Holland.

Los Angeles Tour Dates:
AM February 28th @ The Knitting Factory
AM March 11th @ Hotel Cafe
AM April 10th @ Hotel Cafe
Angus And Julia Stone March 24th and 25th @ The House Of Blues on Sunset
