George Carlin // R.I.P.

George Carlin // R.I.P.

Sad loss in the comedy world today. One of America’s comedic geniuses, George Carlin, died of heart failure at the age of 71.

I actually had a brief encounter with him last year. I was visiting a friend of mine who’s a hostess for a restaurant down the street from my place. Carlin happened to be dining there with his wife. On the way out he gave my friend a $100 bill and told her to go buy some good pot with it, he emphasized good. Pretty cool move from the legend.

I grew up listening to Carlin’s Toledo Window Box cassette. Funny shit. He will be missed.

New Radiohead Song // Super Collider

Radiohead premiered a new song “Super Collider” at their June, 6th show at Dublin’s Malahide Castle.

Thom performed it solo on his piano. It’s a good song, but some people probably went to buy a beer during the performance.

Check out the amateur video coverage of the song on YouTube.

LOS ANGELES – June, 10th

Coolio was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license, Los Angeles police said.

The 44-year-old rapper was released roughly five hours after officers pulled over his gray Hummer around 1:45 a.m. in Hollywood. He posted $10,000 bail.

Officers stopped him because the vehicle’s registration was expired, but a check revealed his license was suspended and he had an outstanding warrant, Officer Ana Aguirre said.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., gained fame for his 1995 single “Gansta’s Paradise.”

SOTD // Shut Up And Let Me Go
The Ting Tings

The Ting Tings consists of dude Ting (Jules) and the smoking hot Ting (Katie White). The indie/electronic band’s song, Shut Up And Let Me Go, was recently featured in an IPOD commercial. The song is annoying, but catchy. Katie White has the same cockney accent as Katie “Jordan” Price (Caution).

The Ting Tings – Shut Up And Let Me Go

The Tings should send a couple $$$’s to Chic for hijacking the opening riff.

David Cross

David Cross had a tough time growing up in Atlanta. His bit on the mid-80’s “Light Up Atlanta” street festival is brilliant.
